Did ya see this? DonorsChoose.org is a non-profit website where “Citizen Philanthropists” can fund public school technology projects!! Teachers submit their proposals and funders browse and donate money to the projects of their choice. Engadget, one of my favorite technology blogs, is running the Engadget Energizes Education challenge where they aim to raise $25,000 dollars to fund projects of their choice. In their list of schools, you can find a Staten Island project and a Brooklyn project. I wonder who these teachers are because they aren’t asking for much! The Staten Island teacher wants a camera, a photo printer, and a TV/DVD with DVDs. The Brooklyn teacher wants an LCD projector and a mouse. Hmmm…. What schools in this area won’t give their teachers a digital camera and an LCD projector??? Anyway, check out the site, you’ll be amazed at this great idea.
